C'est La Vie

Was reading my sister's blogs this morning, and on one she has something like "time is just flying by, I no sooner get up in the morning and turn around a couple of times and it's night again". Forgive me sis if this isn't word for word correct. But you get the gist, and it is so true. I count my days by going to bed at night. Each night I think, well here I am again. Like zoom and there you are again and then again, over and over and over, days and days become years and years, and on and on.
Kind of someone's idea of a joke, but not at all very funny..... or maybe it is. There a saying somewhere about "you might as well laugh". And then
there's the Peggy Lee song from long ago "if that's all there is my
friend, then let's keep dancing. Let's break out the booze and
have a ball, if that's all there is." And so, maybe we need to just
laugh and have a drink and dance and forget about all this,
cause it's all the same in the end anyway.

Such is life.....

A Couple Little Poem Things...

My dear devoted readers, I most humbly apologize for neglecting you for such a long time. As many of you know, I lead a very busy and active life. Sometimes there just isn't enough time in the day to do all that I'd like to do. Sometimes pleasures such as blog writing are forfeited in order to complete the varied and numerous tasks that comprise my days and time. Again, I do apologize and will try to do better. And that brings me to today's post.

When I was about 12 or 13 years old several little poem/rhyme/ditties circulated my school. They were silly little things that I and my classmates thought were quite fun. I would like to share with you the two that I have remembered these many long years. I have no idea of the original authors, and hopefully I'm not infringing on any copyrights, and if I do, hopefully I will be forgiven.

poem #1

Two men dressed in pink and green
went to Harvard in a flying machine.
Something went wrong and down they fell.
Instead of Harvard they went to .....
Now don't get excited and don't get pale.
Instead of Harvard, they went to Yale.

poem #2

I love you little.
I love you mighty.
I love your pajamas
next to my nighty.
Now don't get excited
and don't be misled.
I mean on the clothesline
and not in the bed.

And that, my dears, comprises today's most anticipated post.
With bows I leave you now.

My friend is coming for a visit.....

We have known each other just about 60 years. She got her airline ticket today. She will fly from Oklahoma in early March to visit for a full month! Yay, yay, and hip hip hooray!
